GEMINIANO

January 31.
All "Zemiàn, the Modenese,
celebrate the patron saint of the city.

Modena entire history is filled with the memories of San Geminiano. Of these characters and legends related to him I intend to write on another occasion.
The Feast
On 31 January each year, the city stops to celebrate its patron saint San Geminiano. The festival is characterized by the folklore attached to cult of the saint lived in the fourth century AD, with the exhibition in the Cathedral ....

Geminiano ... the house ...

... relics of one who was chronologically the second bishop of Modena, the most loved by the community.
During the morning there is the historical parade that starts from the town hall of the city's civil authorities have the candles and oil lamps to light the tomb of the saint is located in the crypt of the cathedral.

Hundreds of stalls, January 17 as the day of St. Anthony (I have spoken QUI ) popolano fino a sera il centro storico.

8 hours of the morning. We set off on foot toward the center: the show, all things are hushed, white and silent. The snow is falling in large flakes for several hours.

This street is usually busy. This is Strada Morane, and links the district where I live with the center. Never seen so deserted, even in August .

snowing ...

...nevica...

...nevica...

...nevica...

...nevica...

...nevica quasi tutto il giorno.

Molti ambulanti sono stati penalizzati.
... expose the goods has been difficult ...

... passers-by were more careful not to slip and that crunchy nougat.

Tassoni also had her beautiful white fur hat.

Thirty inches of snow in one day.
Last time: January 31, 1956.
I wonder if this year will replicate?!
